Small Meals

If you want a quick, easy lunchtime recipe, couscous is a great choice. Here is a recipe from our book, 5 Ingredients or Less (Book 1)


Fancy-pants Couscous

(egg and dairy free)


30g of Almonds or Sunflower Seeds

2 spring onions

Small Bunch of fresh herbs (such as parsley, thyme, oregano, basil)

10g of Dried garlic flakes

2 MC of Couscous

Boiling water


What to do:

Add almonds, spring onion, garlic and herbs to thermo bowl and chop for 6 seconds, speed 5

Put into insulated bowl, and add couscous

Pour over enough boiling water that it covers the couscous by about 2-3cm

Put the lid on, and let sit for 10-15 minutes, until all the water has been absorbed

Fluff with a fork, and serve as a side dish for curries, casseroles, stews or hotpots

For something different:

If you want to turn this into a meal,
make a warm salad by adding spinach leaves,
sundried tomato, and leftover chicken or roast beef.

Dress the salad with a mix of lemon juice and olive oil.



Main Meals

Sometimes, on a cold day, you just want to throw a few ingredients into your Thermo appliance, and let dinner take care of itself. Here is a great recipe that does just that, from our book, 5 Ingredients or less (Book 2)

Paprika Beef

(gluten, wheat, egg and dairy free)


2 Capsicum, roughly chopped

700 grams Beef, cubed

500 gram jar of Tomato Pasta Sauce

(Choose a chunky style, with herbs or garlic)

25 grams Sweet Paprika (Hungarian style)

100 grams water

150-200 grams of frozen vegetables of your choice

(frozen peas work well)


What to do:

Add capsicum to thermo bowl and

chop for 6 seconds, speed 4

Add beef and seal for 4 minutes, 100 degrees,

Reverse, speed 1

Add tomato sauce, paprika, and water,

and cook for 30 minutes,

90 degrees, Reverse, speed 1

Add frozen vegetables and cook for another 20 minutes,

90 degrees, Reverse, speed 1

Serve with couscous, rice, or quinoa,

and a dollop of yoghurt or sour cream, if desired.

For something different:

Beef could be replaced by pork or chicken

Other vegetables could be added,

such as potato or pumpkin

(you may need to add extra liquid)

Sweet Treats

Just want (or need!!) a little sweet something to have with coffee? Try these old-fashioned Tahitian Macaroons, from our cookbook, 5 Ingredients or Less (Book 1).

Tahitian Macaroons

(old fashioned coconut macaroons)

(gluten, wheat, and dairy free)



2 egg whites

50g Raw sugar

150g Dessicated coconut

Rind of 1 Lime, white pith removed

I tsp of vanilla paste/extract


What to do:

Add sugar and lime zest to thermo bowl and grind for 10 seconds, speed 9.

Set aside Wash and dry thermo bowl thoroughly

Insert butterfly, and add eggwhites to thermo bowl.

Set controls for 5 minutes, 37 degrees, speed 4 with MC off.

After 2 minutes, slowly pour sugar and lime mix through MC hole.

Add coconut and vanilla, and mix for 30 seconds, speed 2.

Drop tablespoon sized mounds on lined oven trays.

If the mixture is dry, just squeeze it together a little with your hands.

Bake at 180 (160 fan forced) degrees for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown.

For something different:

Lime rind could be replaced by lemon, or a mixture of lemon and orange.

Choc Bliss Balls

(Makes 15-20 balls)

(processed sugar, gluten, wheat, and dairy free)



25 grams Cacao Nibs

120 grams Dried Pitted Dates

50 grams Walnuts

1 tsp of Tahini

Coconut to roll

What to do:

Grind cacao nibs for 15 seconds, speed 9

Add all other ingredients, except coconut, and blitz for 20 seconds, speed 8

Add more tahini if the mixture is too crumbly

Using wet hands, roll into walnut-sized balls

Roll in coconut, and put them in the fridge to firm up











For something different:

Cacao nibs can be replaced by cocoa powder 

Other dried fruit, such as prunes or dried apricots can be used instead of dates
